“La prima opera di cui il Paese ha bisogno è la messa in si sicurezza del proprio territorio”. A dirlo è Salvatore Settis, ex presidente del Consiglio Superiore del Beni culturali ed ex direttore della Normale di Pisa, in una intervista al Fatto Quotidiano.

 

“Come facciamo per la salute del nostro corpo, così l’Italia dovrebbe fare per il proprio territorio: prevenire, prima che curare. Che cosa ci impedisce di farlo? Risposta: la colpevole rincorsa al falso sviluppo fatto di devastanti Tavm ponti sullo Stretto, opere pubbliche da farsi nell’interesse non dei cittadini ma delle imprese”.

Una difesa del territorio e dei suoi cittadini, quella auspicata da Settis, che dovrebbe avvenire anche a scapito dei vincoli di bilancio imposti dall’Europa e recepiti in Costituzione.

 

“Nonostante l nuovo articolo 81 della Carta, stravolto dal governo Monti, resta in piedi “la primarietà del valore estetico-culturale, che non può essere subordinato ad altri valori, compresi quelli economici, ma deve essere capace di influire profondamente sull’ordine economico- sociale”, secondo più d’una sentenza della Corte Costituzionale (per esempio 151/1986). E se questo è vero per i monumenti, lo è a maggior ragione per la salute e la vita dei cittadini. Non posso credere che il governo calpesterà questi valori”.

    Proprio Settis ci ha insegnato a scoprire testimonianze di vita reale nell’arte figurativa. Ogni opera d’arte che se ne va è la voce di quella gente che si spegne per sempre.
