I giornali hanno diffuso una anticipazione della più recente indagine sul rapporto tra inquinamento dell’aria e lo sviluppo delle malattie. E’ stata effettuata dal Dipartimento di Epidemiologia del Lazio con la ASL di Taranto, Arpa Puglia, Ares Puglia studiando l’andamento delle malattie di 321.000 persone per 18 anni in relazione all’inquinamento prodotto dall’ILVA di Taranto.

I risultati confermano, senza ombra di dubbio, che esiste un rapporto diretto tra mortalità per cancro, malattie cardiovascolari, infarto e presenza nell’aria di PM10 e anidride solforosa.

Per tale motivo Italia Nostra chiede la riattivazione delle centraline di controllo dell’aria rimosse qualche anno fa dalla Regione Marche d’accordo con il comune di Ancona, centraline che erano presenti in via Bocconi, al porto, a Torrette e che riportavano i valori degli inquinanti in parola.

Infatti i valori rilevati negli ultimi anni di funzionamento erano stati ben superiori ai limiti di legge e questo probabilmente dava fastidio agli amministratori che ne hanno lasciata solo una dentro il parco della Cittadella, l’unica che secondo loro misurerebbe l’inquinamento di fondo di Ancona e l’unica – guarda caso – sempre dentro i limiti di legge!

La conoscenza della qualità dell’aria che respirano nelle strade di Ancona i cittadini, dovrebbe essere uno degli fattori portanti della politica del traffico e della mobilità in Ancona. Non per deprimere l’economia ma per farla decentemente convivere con la salute dei cittadini.

La politica locale invece ignora le Zone a Traffico Limitato, penalizza il trasporto pubblico su gomma riducendo le corsie riservate ai bus, chiude la Stazione Marittima ponendo così fine al progetto della Metropolitana di superficie dopo aver speso milioni di euro per migliore le stazioni ferroviarie di rete. La politica locale si batte per portare sempre più autoveicoli ed inquinamento in Ancona con la Uscita ad Ovest.

E’ la mancanza di conoscenza di tutti i fattori importanti che dovrebbero guidare la politica amministrativa, quali la qualità dell’aria che respirano i propri cittadini, ad impedire di avere un piano di sviluppo della città che non sia la realizzazione di atti di manutenzione/riparazione di pezzi di città, senza una visione di insieme e senza garanzie per la salute.
