Mino Feliciotti era un folletto ingovernabile. Si materializzava dai vicoli con l’eterna sigaretta in mano, tenuta sulle unghie fino all’ultimo filo di tabacco, il sorriso buono e la battuta pronta a fulminarti. Lo conoscevamo tutti e tutti gli volevamo bene. Anche perché il suo accostarsi per attaccare discorso con la gente non dava mai noia. Con lui il cervello dovevi tenerlo piuttosto sveglio. Una volta venne a mostrare un disegno della torre chiedendo che cosa mancasse. Mah, il pennone della bandiera? No, c’era. La finestrella lato mare? Macché! L’orologio? Era lì che segnava l’ora: mancava un quarto alle sette e… porca miseria!, ci aveva fregati. Un’altra volta raccontò di un gran rumore di passi che l’aveva tenuto sveglio per tutta la notte. Però, guarda di qua, guarda di là, in giro non c’era nessuno. Alla fine, ci disse, si era reso conto che si trattava dei suoi vestiti che passavano di moda. A raccontare Mino e le sue imprese ci vorrebbero un paio di pagine. Una delle due solo per la gentilezza e la tenerezza stampate nel gesto di regalare rose alle donne che conosceva nel giorno del loro compleanno.

Nei vicoli del centro vivevano due persone tra le più note al Porto. Una era Nicola Giri, detto, non so perché, Ovi; l’altra si chiamava Ferruccio Mancinelli, a sua volta soprannominato Didó, e anche per questo bisognerebbe consultare gli archivi. Erano entrambi già celebri, ma raggiunsero l’apice della fama con una discussione approfondita, svoltasi a notte inoltrata sul tema della bomba atomica, appena fuori la cantina di Primo, l’osteria all’angolo tra le vie san Giovanni Bosco e Adriatico. Al dibattito assistettero, dopo averlo canagliescamente provocato, alcuni testimoni tra i quali mi pare di ricordare Pino Calendi, ‘Talià Monaldi, Remo Scocco, Luigino Bugiolacchi e chissà chi altri. Il giorno dopo, radio-vicolo riportò che tra i due non si era raggiunto l’accordo circa la struttura dell’atomo, il che destò qualche preoccupazione nell’ambiente scientifico. Nicò si chiamava il realtà Raimondo, ma non potevi rivolgerti a lui con quel nome: non voleva proprio; insomma, si incazzava. Aveva lavorato all’estero, in Francia e Germania: qui da noi faceva lo sciabbegotto e viveva con la vecchia madre, Lisa, in via Amendola, trenta metri di strada in tutto che sboccano in piazza Brancondi all’altezza dello spaccio di Sessa. Ferruccio Mancinelli, tutt’altro carattere perché persona assai meno suscettibile, abitava in una casetta di via san Giovanni Bosco con la sorella Afra e faceva lo sciabbegotto anche lui. Però, il suo mestiere vero era il cercatore d’oro. Dopo ogni mareggiata, Didó ispezionava la battigia e, quando poco quando un po’ di più, trovava quasi sempre qualche cosa.

Parecchi anni fa, Ermete Grifoni, della Rai di Ancona, istigato da Rodolfo Monarca, confezionò uno splendido servizio su “Didó dell’oro”, proprio su di lui.

Oggi i suoi colleghi cercano i regali del mare con il metal detector. Vuol dire che Ferruccio Didó è stato l’ultimo uomo della frontiera.
