Il fuoriclasse di Ajax e Olanda è morto a Barcellona. L’ha stroncato un tumore ai polmoni

Johan Cruijff non c’è più. Il “Profeta del Gol”, come lo definì Sandro Ciotti nel celebre film del 1974, è’ morto a Barcellona a 68 anni a causa di un tumore ai polmoni. A darne notizia, il profilo Twitter ufficiale. Nel novembre scorso il fuoriclasse dell’Ajax e della grande Olanda l’aveva annunciato così al mondo: “Sì, ho il cancro. All’inizio è una cosa che ti lascia di stucco, ma è un fatto e devo affrontarlo con tutta la serenità e la forza possibili”.

Il campione olandese è stato uno dei più grandi calciatori di tutti i tempi: premiato tre volte con il Pallone d’Oro, vinse tra l’altro tre Coppe dei Campioni e una finale Intercontinentale. Con Pelé e Maradona compone il trio dei più grandi di sempre del calcio fra gli anni Sessanta e Ottanta, prima dell’avvento di campioni contemporanei come Messi. Personaggio di grande intelligenza, ha segnato un’epoca in campo con l’Olanda e l’Ajax e poi in Spagna vestendo la maglia del Barcellona, squadra di cui è stato simbolo e poi allenatore. Tanti i successi anche in panchina. Il calcio piange un grande protagonista sul terreno di gioco e fuori. Mai banale, spesso sferzante, i suoi giudizi calcistici venivano sempre accolti come una sentenza, una parola definitiva.

HA GIOCATO ANCHE NEGLI USA — Nato ad Amsterdam il 25 aprile 1947 e padre di tre figli (Chantal, Susilla e l’ex Manchester United Jordi), da calciatore ha giocato 12 stagioni nel campionato olandese (nell’ Ajax dal 1964-65 al 1972-73 e dal 1981-82 al 1982-83; nel Feyenoord nel 1983-84) segnando 223 gol in 307 partite; 6 stagioni nel campionato spagnolo (nel Barcellona dal 1973-74 al 1977-78; nel Levante nel 1980-81) con 48 gol in 140partite; due stagioni nel campionato statunitense (Los Angeles Aztecs nel 1979; Washington Diplomats nel 1980) con 25 gol in 53 partite. Con la nazionale olandese ha disputato dal 1966 al 1977 48 partite e ha segnato 33 reti, arrivando alla finale, persa contro la Germania Ovest, del Mondiale 1974.
